5.0 out of 5 stars Comfy, Warm, & fits perfectly!
I am a lover of the brand Thunda Thighs (TT) and have over 20 pairs. However, they can get a little expensive. So I decided to look here on Amazon to see if I could find something comparable. While they are not as thick as TT, they are an affordable dupe. They haven’t shrunk after washing or changed colors. They are just as long and fit perfectly. Some other brand I purchased didn’t go all the way up my thighs although it stated it would per measurement.
I love to wear these when I’m a little chilly. I am not a fan of clothes at all so typically at home it’s skin and these socks! Funny things is also that I cannot sleep in regular socks but these are so nice and comfy to sleep in. The belts that come with them are great as they help keep the socks up as well. Otherwise I find myself pulling them up all day. And the fact that the belts are adjustable are a plus.
If you have thought about purchasing from TT but was deterred due to the cost, try these!

5.0 out of 5 stars Work for straight sized people too
I was hesitant to buy these because my thighs are only about 23″ around at the thickest part, but I wanted some thigh highs that were comfy and slouchy. All the straight sized ones are so tight. These fit me perfectly. If my thighs were any smaller they probably wouldn’t stay up well, but they don’t really slide down on me and they’re so comfortable and cute. I’ve bought two colors and will probably buy more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best option out there so far, far from perfect…
Before starting, I’ve written a few reviews of socks like these and some elements are copy/pasted, but this review *is* unique to this product.
As someone with larger features who wears a lot of thigh high socks in a ribbed athletic knit from a couple of the big brands out there, and who has experience with five of these TT clones from four different Amazon stores, these are near the top but aren’t without shortcomings.
First, when you unbox them (especially if you’re familiar with the straight tube of mainstream brands and rumors these plus size thigh highs that flooded the market are baggy at the ankles) you’ll have some anxiety about the weird bag and taper near the ankle. This is actually a good thing and is part of a redesign to make them tighter at the ankle. Figure 1a and 1b (ignore the arrow for now) shows that while the loose sock is lumpy and very weird, on the leg it is smooth with no bagginess. There’s direct and indirect natural lighting to illustrate how the dye reacts. Plus.
Second, they are looser than mainstream thigh highs which is a mixed bag. I really appreciated not having to wrestle myself into them. They’re easy on and easy off, and went all the way up to my groin (5’10” height). Being less tight means they’re less snug however and tend to slide down. I put the sock on one leg to go out to the patio and capture Figure 1, and between there and bringing the board back inside, they were already sliding down. Figure 2 illustrates how much they slid down in this very brief period compared to where they were at the start. This is quite a bit of motion so soon, but not the worst I’ve experienced with a different competitor on the market. I’m (24”) on the low end of plus size thigh circumference rated in the description (27”) so I may not have had enough volume to fill them out and generate good tension to keep them up. Plus and Minus.
I never used the garter belt, but it appeared identical to the garters I’d received from the other three brands I’ve used. I also know how they work, they’ll give some holding power but at the cost of an unsightly bulge where the garters are, and a lack of real options for how wide you’d like to make the cuff. In my experience your best results for function will come from a 1” cuff with the socks folded twice over the garter, but that makes it a thick ring. I prefer a 2 or 3” cuff, but when the garter slides (and it will slide) it’ll mangle your cuff and be difficult to “just pull back up.” I’ve used the garters before with other socks. I’m sorry I didn’t use them on this pair for this review. But I already know how they’ll perform. They’ll do the job, but are kind of a pain.
**PRO TIP** I managed to get the same hold-up performance without using the garter belts. Find some of your scratchiest, poorest quality pantyhose. You know the kind, the ones that already have those horizontal lines and defects right out of the “egg.” Like 100% nylon with no lycra, a dull finish, and no glossy sheen or silky smoothness. Wear those underneath and put the socks over top. The roughness of the pantyhose makes a good surface for the socks to get traction and the frictional forces help hold them up better than if they just slid down your smooth leg or smoother higher quality tights. This option still had some sliding down, but no more than I have gotten *with* the garter belts (Note: referring to typical garter performance on other brands – Moon Wood wasn’t tested explicitly with belts here), and the result was a more comfortable wear and smoother appearance. Figures 3a and 3b demonstrate average sag using rough pantyhose with *no* garter belts. They occasionally need pulled back up, but typically only fell as low as shown throughout the day. The only point I got them down to my knees involved running down a hallway pushing a deep freezer. I’ll give them a pass under high impact performance.
Let’s do some comparisons. In Figure 4 we have Moon Wood’s Mustard Yellow alongside Competitor A’s burgundy and Competitor B’s fuchsia. I had found Competitor B’s sock to be pretty decent in most metrics, but extremely wrinkled (still have not gotten these wrinkles out, btw), and so soft and smooth they were silky against the leg. Silky = slippery and very hard to keep up. Both Competitor A’s and Moon Wood’s were not so velvety and tended to stay up better than Competitor B. Note the line highlighted by the arrow in Fig 4. Every pair of this type of plus size TT clone I’ve gotten from Amazon has a line between the knee and the ankle. It could be from flat packing, but the socks in shipment are not vacuum sealed and are bundled quite loosely without a hard crease. I suspect it has something to do with the construction and changing the compression along the leg so to avoid the “baggy sweatpants ankles” common to early versions of these socks on the market. Competitor B’s sock still had the crease when it’s worn on the leg. Moon Wood also has it, but it’s much less prominent than Competitor B; unfortunately, Competitor A’s line was almost invisible when worn on the leg (not pictured). With Moon Wood, the line is still quite visible on the leg (Revisit Fig 1b, arrow). This is a minus against some of the competition, but pretty common in my experience.
Moon Wood is still near the top, but not everything is great. The socks had a few quality control and manufacturing errors. I found a misplaced stitch on a knee (Fig 5a) that’s not overtly noticeable without making close scrutiny, and it can probably be relocated to the inside by pulling the thread tight and leaving the loose loop on the inner surface. What’s much more obvious is the very loose thread near the top of the sock which is right in the middle of the cuff on the front side (Fig 5b). It’s front and center and unless I take care to fold it inside the cuff, it’s an obvious defect that will draw attention. I didn’t notice until this review, but it’s also in the shot for Figure 2, left inset. While I boasted of Competitor A’s better handling of “the line,” it was also loaded with quality defects much more egregious than Moon Wood. Moon Wood is better, but that these flaws are present at all is still a minus. Even if they were perfect, these socks might be worth their listing price at $18 USD. But when they bear these quality control issues that should ordinarily classify them as “irregulars” and are sold as a premium product, that’s a disappointment; and Moon Wood’s asking price of $18 is a little steep for what they deliver. Minus.
All in all, despite these flaws Moon Wood is in the Top 2 of producers I’ve tried. Between Moon Wood and Competitor A, I would probably *choose* to buy from Competitor A again (and actually did), but in practice would most likely buy from Moon Wood because they have more color options and I’ve gotten every variant I would want already offered by Competitor A’s limited selection. My advice, buy. But keep an eye on the listings and hold out for a deep discount or coupon closer to $10 than $18 for a better value ratio.
I hope this review is complete and helpful to anyone unsure of where to buy. Happy thigh highs!
The Good:
– Holds up better than other brands
– Thigh garters provided
– Soft, comfortable wear
– Easy to put on and take off
– Varied color selection
The Bad:
– Holding up better does not equal “holds up well”
– A bit overpriced, considering…
The Ugly:
– …Quality control and irregular manufacturing defects present

5.0 out of 5 stars I love them!!!
These socks are amazing, thick and comfy. I recently had ankle surgery and am in a boot. I needed something to put over my leg that would cover wear the boot sits and not snag my staples, this is perfect. Currently because of length I fold at the knee and get double padding but these go up to the top of my thight which will be nice when I’m going out or out of this boot. The colors are so vibrant too. I bought 2 to try them out, I’m now gonna buy a pair in every color.
I’m 5’5″ and my upper thigh is 28″, there’s alot of stretch and I was on the smaller size of the measurements. I’d say if your much smaller these might not work, but if your bigger these should do great as I said it has alot of stretch to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Snug
You will need the belts to keep the material up. It is very soft and will immediately slide down if you don’t use them. I really like this purchase and I’m eager to put it to good use. It isn’t too tight and you can adjust how tight you want the straps to be. They look pretty. This was a worthy purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fix them please :’c
Ok I’m going to start out by saying this is going to be a little bit of a longer review maybe. It will include not the most flattering picture of my thigh LOL but I feel like since there are like barely any plus size thigh highs the more info the better.
I wish I could love these. The quality of the weave feels really nice and I think it could keep you warm. That being said I don’t know what they were thinking with this pattern when they made it. The ankle is super super baggy but like only in the ankle part so it looks really weird I included a picture of when I had it pinned (spoiler alert I kept them because I know how to sew and this was the only option I had haha) but that was all extra fabric that I didn’t even pull tightly it was barely pulled just enough to make the shape look normal. Looking at them it’s just like a long tube for the leg so there’s no definition at the ankle. I guess that’s good if you have thicker ankles like shout out to my cankle Queens but even then it should be a little tighter there so it looks a little more flattering. Before you think, “hey, maybe a slouchy ankle look would be cute kind of leg warmer vibes” it’s not enough material there to make that look good it’s like just enough to make it look weird.
I have big thighs (as I assume you do too since you’re looking at the reviews) and while the garters feel well made, I think these might be for standard sizes versus plus size. When I put them on they really cut into my thighs, and that’s fine if it’s just a bit because you kind of need some pressure to keep them up, but this is another level. I feel like my thigh is going to be made into a sausage link lol the description says that you should fit someone with a bigger thigh than me, yeah would only fit if it was just a sock? Or are we/they supposed to just have them fall down? I would have to attach to garters together and adjust that way to have them fit comfortably enough to leave on all day. To fix this issue they could put another set of garters to extend them or put new ones because these would only fit the smaller end of the plus size spectrum or s-2x?. I think what annoyed me most about that was most of the pictures they showed were people that had super thick thighs comparable to mine and I would have to do a bunch of adjustments to get them to work. Like I shouldn’t have to pay double the price of a straight size and still have to sew them or get additional garters/elastic to make them work. This product clearly states that it would fit me and people bigger than me but that would only work in theory because sure you could wear them without the garters and sure they fit but they roll down with any movement because there is no elastic at the top it’s just the end of the weave. I made sure to attach a picture of the measurement of my thigh where the garter was placed to show they were within limit haha
So what’s the deal? What did I do with them? I kept them. As I type, there aren’t many options for actual big thighs, and since I have some experience sewing I can make the adjustments on the socks myself by pinning off the excess fabric from the ankle and tapering it off to the calf of your leg and sewing along that line. I’m still not sure what I’m going to do about the garter situation but honestly I would appreciate if they could send me an extra pair since they don’t even work as advertised and that would fix that situation. Until then they are kind of useless or fine for pictures :/ I know a lot of people in the reviews were saying they were happy they included garters as if that was like a bonus item but if they don’t even have elastic at the top, they wouldn’t be wearable, so I don’t really think that something to praise because it’s an incomplete item without them. You would 100% need body adhesive without them and that within itself is annoying as heck. I wish I could be part of their team to help them because they are so close to a great product. Wish I had more time to use my nicer camera to take pictures but I tried to take useful ones for all my thick thighed brethren.
I’ll update if they reach out or try to help.
Until then I stare longingly at my socks I wish I could wear and couldn’t bring myself to return :’c
Update: Dec 26th 2021 They reached out and let me know they are working on an updated design with a tighter ankle and better/thicker/longer garters but it will take ~2 months to get produced or something but they could send another pair of the same ones if I didn’t want to wait until then. Since I still kept them I opted to get another pair of the same (maybe I’ll get the new design later on but kind of shocked they listened to the critique and really really hope they actually follow through with what they promised) I’m going to link the garters together once I get the second pair so the two become 1 and they then are able to be used as actual thigh highs haha until then still waiting and looking longingly at my socks lol

5.0 out of 5 stars So warm
I wear mine in the morning during my walk. They keep my legs warm with my pajama shorts. It’s like wearing pants and they stay up without the garter. I’m buying another pair. I got big thighs and they stay on nicely. Order 2 pair, you won’t regret it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super comfy and wonderful! Color not as expected.
Very comfy, stay up and honestly I’m not a thigh-high person but I love these! However, I got them for a costume and needed the shade of orange seen in the picture. I think they sent neon orange instead of pumpkin (or whatever the name was, not sure…) and it is so freaking bright, which is not what I was looking for! I am nervous that I won’t have enough time to send it back and get a new one before halloween, so I am not going to return it, but please be aware of the potential brightness of the color before you get it! I do think I will get a pair of the black ones for me in the future, though…

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleased for the most part
I love that the socks come in a variety of colors and are warm. I ordered multiple colors. Unfortunately, when I wore the coffee colored socks they turned GREEN! A possible dyeing issue??? They were the correct color when I put them on at home. It was only when I arrived at work that I noticed they were GREEN! I was not happy about that because it ruined my outfit. Also, the socks rolled down but the belt that was provided was helpful. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase.

Comfy and BIGIm a mid-sized girl with thick thighs and every time I got thigh high socks in the past they would be pretty uncomfortable and cutting my circulation… THESE THOUGH are very roomy and stretchy and cozy! I didnt find them itchy either which is a huge plus with my sensory issues 🙂 1 thing: if you have short legs (like me) they might be a little long
Plus Size Thigh High Socks for Thick Thighs-Extra Long Socks (verified owner) –
Immediately yes.I was skeptical because I am between sizes. I often am too small for “plus size” clothing and then too big for “standard size” anything. Ones I’ve tried before were too big that they would bag down to my knees BUT THESE DONT. They stay up at my upper thigh (can go higher than photos) but they are still stretchy enough that if I wanted to (for example) I could wear stockings or even leggings under for extra warmth. And surprisingly the elastic thigh band, fits really well!!! Super comfy, warm, soft, I really like them. Will be buying more for sure. For reference I am 5’2, 195lbs and my hips are 45in

thick thighs omgSo I really liked these socks they’re amazing. They’re soft. They’re lightweight. They’re not too thick even though they feel sick they are not. I love the fact that they come with a gutter belt to hold them in place on the thighs all in all the socks are amazing. The only downside about these socks are, although they are not overly thick they are too thick for certain shoes like boots and certain slip on flats other than that I recommend the socks or 10 out of 10.

They fit!A little put off by the photo as I don’t have unusually big legs, but any other over the knee sock I’ve ever bought have been too tight or too short, or both. These are great! Roomy, soft and comfortable and definitely thigh high. Beautifully presented in small box and even has garters to help hold them up. Like any over the knee socks they tend to fall down with activity even with the garter but easy enough to pull up from time to time. Bought a second pair and would definitely recommend except for those with ultra slender or short legs.

Hideous!!I can only say these are hideous! They are nothing like their description!!
Not navy blue but bright royal blue.
The feet are small and tight .
The material is strange and itchy.
Even worse, I paid £20 for these thinking they would be good, not weird!
They’ll cost too much to send back!! Not happy at all.

Work for straight sized people tooI was hesitant to buy these because my thighs are only about 23″ around at the thickest part, but I wanted some thigh highs that were comfy and slouchy. All the straight sized ones are so tight. These fit me perfectly. If my thighs were any smaller they probably wouldn’t stay up well, but they don’t really slide down on me and they’re so comfortable and cute. I’ve bought two colors and will probably buy more.

Very ComfyI love these socks. They are soft and come with elastic garters to help them stay up. They are very long. They go all the way up to the top of my leg. If my legs were longer they would go higher. Just place the garter at the height that you want them to be and fold the tops down. They are soft and warm and perfect for keeping your legs warm in cold weather while looking stylish. For reference I am 5’3 and a size M.

Fix them please :'cOk I’m going to start out by saying this is going to be a little bit of a longer review maybe.
I feel like my thigh is going to be made into a sausage link lol the description says that you should fit someone with a bigger thigh than me, yeah would only fit if it was just a sock? thick thighs omgSo I really liked these socks they're amazing. They're soft. They're lightweight. They're not too thick even though they feel sick they are not. I love the fact that they come with a gutter belt to hold them in place on the thighs all in all the socks are amazing. The only downside about these socks are, although they are not overly thick they are too thick for certain shoes like boots and certain slip on flats other than that I recommend the socks or 10 out of 10.

Best option out there so far, far from perfect…Before starting, I’ve written a few reviews of socks like these and some elements are copy/pasted, but this review *is* unique to this product.

Well made. WarmMy Mom loves these! I tried to save a dollar and buy from another retailer. It wasn't worth it! These are better quality.
My Mom's legs swell and some socks hurt her feet or are too tight. These are perfect for keeping her legs and feet warm. They are comfortable and do not roll down.
Thank you for producing an item that adds comfort for my Mom. I will purchase from Moon Wood again.

They're ok.They fit great, are warm and great value. I would wash them in a delicates laundry bag or they will snag on something. I purchased them because they were thigh high with straps. Well if you don't tighten the strap to "cut off circulation mode" they won't stay up. They slowly slide down to my knee.

Comfy and softVery nice and comfortable, but they don't stay up with bands, and will need a garder belt to keep from sliding down because the small belts on the leg itself aren't enough to keep them up. Will buy more once I have the appropriate belt needed.

Comfy, Warm, & fits perfectly!I am a lover of the brand Thunda Thighs (TT) and have over 20 pairs. However, they can get a little expensive. So I decided to look here on Amazon to see if I could find something comparable. While they are not as thick as TT, they are an affordable dupe. They haven't shrunk after washing or changed colors. They are just as long and fit perfectly. Some other brand I purchased didn't go all the way up my thighs although it stated it would per measurement.
I love to wear these when I'm a little chilly. I am not a fan of clothes at all so typically at home it's skin and these socks! Funny things is also that I cannot sleep in regular socks but these are so nice and comfy to sleep in. The belts that come with them are great as they help keep the socks up as well. Otherwise I find myself pulling them up all day. And the fact that the belts are adjustable are a plus.

Sock leg warmersThese sock leg warmers are just the thing, when you want to wear a dress or skirt in colder weather. They are soft and very stretchy, with adjustable belts included for added security and no slipping fit. Perfect bonus. I'm gonna purchase more colors. Great buy!

Almost Perfect! Fit fantastic, warm, but very itchy!I'm 5'5 and 135lbs, so I'm not exactly plus sized. However, all the other thigh high socks available on amazon are so tight they cut off circulation in my legs. These fit beautifully! They are incredibly stretchy, so they fit my legs but I can see how they would fit someone with much larger legs too. They are super warm and super cute! However the acrylic yarn is very itchy. I soaked them in a bunch of fabric softener for about 8 hours, washed on cool, and dried on the "very low" heat setting for 30 minutes and let them hang dry overnight. This made them much softer so that I can wear them with not much discomfort. Still a little itchy, but not much. I do believe its because that method works by creating a thicker layer of fabric softener to coat the acrylic material, because after washing them again without soaking them in fabric softener for hours (I still added fabric softener to the washing machine as I usually would), I think they have become a bit more itchy. I would guess the coating of fabric softener washed away a little bit. If you're worried that you'll need to get rid of these because they're too itchy, the fabric softener soaking and low heat dry method could salvage them for you! I hope the seller will consider making these socks in a cotton version. As much as I'd love to purchase more colors, I don't think I will pay $15 for these knowing how itchy the acrylic yarn material is, unfortunately.

They fit!A little put off by the photo as I don't have unusually big legs, but any other over the knee sock I've ever bought have been too tight or too short, or both.

If you have thought about purchasing from TT but was deterred due to the cost, try these!

Fantastic plus-size, comfortable and very warmMy wife absolutely loves these socks, she now has 5 different pairs and wears them almost constantly.
She's a regular gym goer and does a lot or work on her lower body and finds regular socks are too slim fitting, but these are just perfect for her and they'd stretch well to an even larger size if necessary.
She bought the first pair a couple of years ago in the hope that they'd be OK but they are fantastic. They keep her warm, have a great fit, they're comfortable and they look absolutely incredible!

decent product with dubious packagingI've bought these socks in neon yellow, longan yellow, purple red, and bean paste. They're soft and stretchy and fit is good.
The yarn/thread of the socks is more loosely spun than it appears in the photos. While this contributes to how soft and cozy the socks feel, it also means they pill up pretty fast.
The colors are close to accurate in the photos. I think neon yellow and longan yellow appear as depicted in the photos. The purple red color is a little lighter than shown. Like other commenters have said, the bean paste socks are a slightly more purple or mauve-tinged grey than the picture shows.
I dinged a star for how some of the socks were packaged. Some arrived very securely shrink-wrapped and inside a cardboard box. Those were great! However, the most recent pair I ordered, the bean paste pair, arrived loose, not shrink-wrapped, in a frosted clear zippered bag with small breathing holes on the sides. There was nothing securing the zipper on the bag. Anyone at any point in the shipping process could have easily unzipped this bag and messed with the socks and just zipped the bag again. I don't really feel comfortable with the idea of something I intend to put on the bare skin of my upper legs being directly handled by shipping folks. Also, if there was any dirt or weather exposure during the shipping process (which seems pretty plausible), it would go right through those little holes in the bag. I understand wanting to use reusable shipping materials, but this feels unsafe and unclean to me for a variety of reasons. I washed the socks before wearing and they seem to be in acceptable condition, so… just be aware you may receive a dirty product of dubious security, cleanness, and hygiene. Aside from that they're worth the money, though.

Comfy and softVery nice and comfortable, but they don't stay up with bands, and will need a garder belt to keep from sliding down because the small belts on the leg itself aren't enough to keep them up. Will buy more once I have the appropriate belt needed.

thick thighs omgSo I really liked these socks they're amazing.

The Thicc Thigh Struggle is OVERI have always struggled finding thigh highs that actually fit me. Before I lost a lot of weight it was a pain to find ones that were big enough and now it was finding ones that are high enough and can contain how soft my thighs are. I am so happy that these are perfect. They are SO soft and warm and they fit perfectly. They're a little long for me (I'm 5'5) but all I had to do was fold them over on the tops and they not only stayed up (when test walking in my room) but they were the right length. I HIGHLY recommend these. Also, they do come with adjustable garters for those who need a set 🙂

Warm and cozyThe length of these are pretty long and I am 5 ft too. And they're also super thick as well.
They're definitely too big for me, so I think they're best for someone who's taller 5'3 .
They still rolled down okay but the quality is all right.

I love them!!!These socks are amazing, thick and comfy. I recently had ankle surgery and am in a boot. I needed something to put over my leg that would cover wear the boot sits and not snag my staples, this is perfect. Currently because of length I fold at the knee and get double padding but these go up to the top of my thight which will be nice when I'm going out or out of this boot. The colors are so vibrant too. I bought 2 to try them out, I'm now gonna buy a pair in every color.
I'm 5'5" and my upper thigh is 28", there's alot of stretch and I was on the smaller size of the measurements. I'd say if your much smaller these might not work, but if your bigger these should do great as I said it has alot of stretch to it.

cute but keeps falling downThese are great for thick thighs and it'll keep you warm! I just hate that it keeps falling down and doesn't keep in place so you gotta place the garters on a bit tighter (not too tight!) and I do find that annoying. I love that they go over my knees and all the way up to keep me extra warm!
However, I purchased these to be warm and I wear them over my tights. They're stretchy and durable. They're quite comfortable other than the fact that I keep having to pull them up! I just wear them at home.

Very Demure!!!Socks are very warm and so cute, slightly does roll down without belt, but a little fold over doesn't hurt. I will purchase more. The fit was amazing. Wore them to a pink and denim birthday brunch.

Comfortable and They Stay Up (mostly)Incredibly comfortable! They look amazing, the fabric is very soft and high quality. These are great for just laying around the house or light walking around. They do roll down a bit despite the little straps, but they otherwise function as advertised.

Love TheseI love these socks. They are so soft and fit my large legs perfectly. I do not use the the belts to keep them up. I am not interested in having them go over my thigh. I just fold the tops down over my calfs. I even wear them to bed at night to keep my feet and legs warm. I have bought a lot of them in different colors. That way I can wait until I have enough to make a wash load.
